Site certificate
Within the framework of the project “Zertifizierung von Siedlungen / Quartieren” (engl. Site certificate) the possibility of transferring the Swiss “2000-Watt Site” certificate to Austria was assessed by stakeholders from Austria and Switzerland: in how far can the existing Swiss system “2000-Watt Site” certificate (for newly build areas) as well as ongoing and planned propositions to expand the system to city planning processes and existing areas provide a basis for Austria?

Based on the ambitious WAM-plus scenario of the "Energy Economics scenarios in terms of climate targets 2030 and 2050" it will be analyzed which contribution the “klimaaktiv” building standard is able to achieve and its promotion to an Austrian low-carbon development.

Programme Management: “Stadt der Zukunft“ („City of Tomorrow“)
The goal of this project is to develop new technologies, technological (sub-) systems and urban services to accelerate the “City of Tomorrow” initiative. The OEGUT supports the Austrian Ministry for Transport, Innovation and Technology (bmvit) in designing the content of the programme and its strategy, transferring the results and also takes care of the supervision and networking of project participants.

“klimaaktiv” building and refurbishment
The “klimaaktiv” building and refurbishment programme is a part of the Austrian Ministry for Agriculture and Forestry’s (BMLFUW) climate change initiative. The central goal is the market launch and quick dissemination of climate-friendly building and refurbishment methods within the residential buildings and services sector.

Innovative Business Models for Single-Family House Renovation (COHERENO)

Within the next 20 years the ‘Flugfeld Aspern’ in the 22nd Viennese District aims at providing a high-quality urban area with working and living facilities up to 20.000 inhabitants and 25.000 employees. The master plan describes the development of a total gross floor area of about 2 million m².

Strategic Networking of RDI Programmes in Construction and Operation of Buildings
The construction sector is not only economically significant but also has a lot of environmental impacts. Buildings are responsible of 40 % of total EU energy consumption and 1/3 of GHG emissions during their construction and operation stages. More than 50% of all materials extracted from earth are transformed into construction materials and products.
