Requirements for Recyclability of Solid Building Materials
The study shows the current challenges, opportunities and potentials regarding the circularity of the solid construction industry as well as the relevant actors. Future fields of action for necessary research and development to foster the circular economy in the mineral building materials sector were identified and recommendations were derived.

Smart Grids and public procurement
In this project the potential application of the innovation-driving public procurement instrument in the area of Smart Grids will be tested. To do this, relevant Smart Grids technologies will be identified and evaluated for their relevance for both communal application and for other institutions which are subject to public procurement.

Bio-economy FTI Strategy: Dialogue Forum 2016
The inter-ministerial FTI working group for climate change and scarcity of resources would like to create an action and implementation plan for the fields of research, innovation and technology together with relevant stakeholders in the form of a dialogue forum. The main aim of the project is expert organisational support throughout the dialogue-process.

Organisation of film nights in conjunction with the initiative „natürlich weniger Mist“ („naturally less waste“)
Together with the initiative known as “natürlich weniger Mist“ (“naturally less waste“) in Vienna (a local government initiative), the OEGUT shows films which address the question “how will we feed 10 billion people in the future?”

The status quo within the bio-based industry in Austria
The intention of this project is to create a comprehensive overview of the status quo in the bio-based industry. With the help of quantitative indicators, current R&D areas will be identified, located geographically on a country-level and compared with other countries.

Smart Meters at School
In this project, ÖGUT will produce videos explaining all aspects of this technology, positive and negative sides as well. Furthermore, we will hold workshops in three schools in Vienna, in which the pupils will have the change to get in though with actual Smart Meters and related aspects of energy provision, and energy demand and the role that Smart Meters can play in Smart Grids of tomorrow.

Anchoring the bio-based industry within the national bio-economy-strategy
This project aims to support the Austrian Ministry for Transport, Innovation and Technology in bringing results derived from the bio-based industry into the discussions between the inter-ministerial working group for the creation of a research, innovation and technology strategy and to position these topics as significantly recognized technological research objectives in the context of a planned government statement.

Coordinating unit for waste prevention in Vienna
As a coordination unit for waste prevention in Vienna, the OEGUT supports Vienna’s local government with technical, organaisational and strategic issues arising in conjunction with their initiative “natürlich weniger Mist” (“naturally less waste”) in order to ensure it is a continuous and efficient process. Coordination activities include compiling an annual report on the projects carried out by the “naturally less waste” initiative. Furthermore the project-beneficiary coordinates the delivery of project documentation and six-monthly project status reports from the project coach assigned to this particular funded project.

Check the Energy! Low-energy farming with children and young people
The central focus of this project, funded by the Ministry for Transport, Innovation and Technology, was awareness-raising amoung school children on the topics of energy efficiency, economical handling of energy and the communication of an approach to solving the problem of year-round vegetable production.
