Project
Establishment of Circular Economy Hubs in Armenia and Moldova
Client Umweltbundesamt, EU4Green Recovery East
Status/Duration ongoing (2026 - 2029)
Start Phase
Building on the previous activities carried out within the EU4Green Recovery East project, suitable local stakeholders for the establishment of national Circular Economy (CE) Hubs in Armenia and Moldova are identified, and the existing framework conditions are analyzed. In the subsequent phase, the focus will be on developing an appropriate vision and strategy for ensuring the long-term establishment of the CE Hubs.
Capacity Building and Project Piloting
Depending on local circumstances (such as relevant target groups, priority value chains, etc.), specific capacity-building priorities will be set together with local stakeholders, and corresponding training and development programs will be designed.
Support will also be provided for the piloting of projects aimed at fostering national circular economy initiatives in Armenia and Moldova, as well as for the upscaling of selected projects over the course of the three-year implementation period.
International Networking
The national CE Hubs will be supported in building and maintaining (inter)national networks. This includes organizing regional CE events and developing a digital platform to promote knowledge transfer among the Eastern Partnership (EaP) countries.
Monitoring and Evaluation
To enable the long-term assessment of the CE Hubs' performance, appropriate monitoring and evaluation tools will be developed and implemented in cooperation with national institutions.
