Gender equality and inclusion in clean energy transitions in Southeast Asia

The Clean Energy Ministerial (CEM) is a high-level global forum for promoting policies and programs that advance clean energy technologies, share best practices, and support the transition to a global clean energy economy.

ÖGUT supports CEM in strengthening cooperation with Southeast Asia and promoting gender equality and inclusion in employment in the energy sector. This includes organizing a regional workshop to highlight gender inclusion, share insights from the CEM Equal by 30 campaign, and discuss its applicability to regional gender advancement goals in the energy sector.

Building on the workshop, a toolbox will be developed that contains practical, region-specific measures and initiatives to promote gender equality and inclusion in the energy workforce. The toolbox will highlight successful regional examples and opportunities for further developing CEM's inclusion efforts and will be presented at the 17th CEM Ministerial Meeting in Riyadh in October 2026.
