Process Support for the RTI-Focus on Circular Economy
In cooperation with the Federal Environment Agency and the Federal Ministry for Climate Protection, Environment, Energy, Mobility, Innovation and Technology (BMK), OEGUT accompanied the process of developing an Austrian circular economy strategy. The strategy process started in autumn 2020 and lasted until spring 2022.

IEA Equality in Energy Transitions Initiative
The Equality in Energy Transitions Initiative (formerly known as Clean Energy, Education and Empowerment - C3E International) is a Technology Collaboration Programme of the IEA and an Initiative of the Clean Energy Ministerial (CEM). Its primary objective is to promote gender equality and diversity within the energy transition process with the goal of closing the gender gap by 2030.

NANO CYCLE: Nano materials and advanced materials in a circular economy and effects on recycling processes
Over the past years synthetic nano materials and so called “advanced materials” have been increasingly used in products. In many cases there are no labelling obligations for consumer goods containing nano materials. In this project, these components are going to be quantified in waste flows in a circular economy.

The Role of Women in Transformation
Our society is confronted with major challenges and gender equality plays an important role in respect to sustainable development. In order to initiate and shape according transformation processes in organisations and society as a whole, it is necessary to focus on the deployment of female and male potential. ÖGUT engages in these topics in the course of a background study and a workshop at the Growth in Transition Conference 2018 (the motto was: Europe’s Transformation: Where People Matter).

Competence Office „Smart Cities & Communities“
Smart cities and communities play an important role when it comes to the transition to an energy efficient and climate-friendly work- and lifestyle. The competence office contributes to the protection and the expansion of the topic leadership through comprehensive professional programm and project support. The focus lies on the developement of technology and the organisation of a corresponding (research-)community.

Social Innovations for Energy Transition
A profound transition to a sustainable society is only possible through an interplay between technological and social innovation. In the course of the projekt SINNergyTRANS, ÖGUT and AIT will develop methodological approaches, with which social innovation for energy transition is created, monitored and evaluated in certain regions.

Supervising Evaluation of the Funding from the European funds for Regional Developement
In the supervising evaluation of the austrian EFRE programm (European Funds for Regional Development), effectivity, efficiency and effect of the funded activity are assessed. The main responsibilty of ÖGUT is the evaluation of the step which leads to the saving on CO2 emissions.

As a part of the accompanying research team of the programme „Flagship region Energy“ ÖGUT supports the Climate and Energy Fund regarding communication measures and the implementation of programme events.
