MuT – Mobility and Participation
Mobility poverty is a growing social and economic problem in Austria, affecting around 6% of the population. This has far-reaching consequences for social participation and economic development. A standardised and comprehensive definition is required in order to establish targeted measures to tackle mobility poverty. -
Austria is learning circular economy
The implementation of an Austrian circular economy requires a wide range of skills and new forms of cooperation. In close collaboration with educational institutions, companies and other relevant stakeholders, ÖGUT develops target group-specific training courses and advisory services and builds up a corresponding stakeholder network. -
IEA UsersTCP "Empowering all: Gender Equality for the Energy Transition”
Intersectional factors such as gender, age, and socioeconomic status influence access to and use of energy in private households. The resulting inequalities are examined in the project through a survey, focus groups, policy guidelines, and a TCP Gender Knowledge Hub for inclusive energy transitions. This contributes to a fairer, more sustainable energy transition and promotes systematic inclusion in energy policy. -
ALPHA - Advancing 5th-Generation District Heating and Cooling Networks in Alpine Space
In order to counteract climate change in the particularly sensitive macro-region of the Alps, the Alpine countries have set themselves net-zero targets for heating and cooling. The ALPHA project, which is co-financed by the EU, is developing ways to decarbonise the Alpine heating, cooling and building sector. -
Feasibility Study on active cooling and temperature control in multi-storey residential buildings supplied with district heating
A feasibility study is being conducted for 5 multi-storey residential buildings in Vienna to determine how these buildings can be cooled in the future in combination with a district heating supply in the face of increasing cooling requirements. The technical, economic, social and ecological aspects of feasibility are being taken into account. Based on the 5 residential complexes examined, recommendations for a future cooling concept are being drawn up for different building types. -
Austrian representation in the IEA Experts Group on ‘R&D priority setting and evaluation’
The IEA’s “R&D Priority Setting and Evaluation” (EGRD) experts group focuses on methods and approaches for setting priorities in the field of energy technologies. Austria’s participation is intended to identify key topics in energy research, incorporate experience in this field into Austrian RDI priorities, and highlight Austrian expertise and success stories in the international cooperation. -
Climate conference in St.Stefan-Afiesl
The municipality of St. Stefan-Afiesl is inviting its residents to a climate conference in autumn 2024, during which measures to reduce energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions will be developed. The relevant data will be collected in advance and reduction measures that fall within the municipality's area of responsibility will be examined. -
Study: Skills needs in the circular economy and circular production in Austria
Together with KMU Forschung Austria, ÖGUT assessed skills needs in the seven key transformation areas of the Austrian Circular Economy Strategy and developed recommendations on which training offers could meet these needs across Austria. -
Support for the Implementation of the Circular Economy Strategy
The Austrian Circular Economy Strategy outlines the next steps for its implementation. ÖGUT supported the Federal Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry, Environment and Water Management (BMLUK, formerly BMK) in particular with the development of a monitoring and evaluation concept, the preparation of the 2025 progress report, and in the area of standards.
