PASS-NET Project-meeting 8-9th October 2009 in Zagreb

ÖGUT is coordinating the International Passive House Network PASS-NET including 10 European countries.

The project PASS-NET www.pass-net.net , co financed by the EU-Program Intelligent Energy Europe is a network of organisations from 10 European countries  (A, D, CZ, SK, SLO, HR, RO, B, UK, SE) with the aim to support the distribution of Passive House technologies. Within the network the experiences already gather are distributed to other countries. Also materials for training course are being developed together as well as brochures and information materials. By the activities of the network partners the public as well as the stakeholder from public administration and from the building sector should be informed about the potential in using Passive House Technologies.

Synergies can be used by the international co-operation in PASS-NET as the joint elaboration of analyses and studies or the coordinated organisation of the “International Passive House Days”. At the International Passive House Days, which are yearly organised since 2003, in all PASS-NET countries existing Passive Houses are opened for visitors, which can talk with the residents about “how is daily life in a Passive House?”. In Austria in the year 2008 about 8.000 persons participated in these events.

A further output of PASS-NET is the establishing of an international database on Passive Houses. Therefore all partners are currently documenting the existing Passive Houses in their country, so it is easy for every body to find demonstration projects in the region and to contact experienced Building companies, architectures and planners.
